Why sci-fi films are more than just entertainment for me,
Every film I describe in this section has influenced me in some way. Some have amazed me with their brilliance, while others have fascinated me with their flaws. Whether it’s breathtaking FX, unforgettable soundtracks, or deeply compelling storylines, these works shape my perspective on the genre and often find their way into my own stories. Some of the films I feature are true rarities. While they may be hard to find, that’s precisely what makes them special. They come from an era when science fiction was still handcrafted art—visionary, raw, and authentic.
A new focus: From sci-fi comics to sci-fi films
You may have noticed that the “SF Comics” section has temporarily disappeared from my website. Don’t worry—it will return in 2026 with a newly revamped comic series. Until then, I’ll be focusing more on “SF Films” to bring you my personal favorites and show you how these movies inspire my books and screenplays.
Inspiration from stories—even the not-so-great ones
Interestingly, it’s not only great films that have fueled my creative process. Weaker works, which may lack a strong plot, memorable music, effective FX, or deep characters, have also shown me how to approach my own stories differently—or better. Every experience, whether positive or negative, is valuable when it comes to building new worlds.
